DDARA CHAIR’S REPORT

Welcome to the summer newsletter 2005.

As most people will be aware Ron White has finally managed to persuade someone else to take over as Chair of the DDARA – me!  Luckily for us though he has agreed to stay on as vice chair and will continue to play an active role. John Boryer has also changed role from Treasurer to Secretary.

Despite the summer holidays members of the residents association are still busy organising trips out for young people and children.

We are also planning a Health and Well Being event to be run at the school on September 17th, which will bring people in from various organisations who will advise and offer information.

Look out for information on further computer courses and other projects in the pipeline.

We will be creating an events diary in the Autumn Newsletter, any contributions are welcome.

This will be a time of change for the Residents Association as Ron takes more of a back seat and we need all the support we can get to be able to continue the work we already do and to create new ventures.

If you feel you have any spare time or have ideas about what you would like to see in Netherfield please come along to our next committee meeting on Tuesday September 13th at 7.30pm at Netherfield School or speak to one of our committee members about what you could do to help with events like the fun day or working with a particular group within the village.

Netherfield Fun Day—Once again we picked one of the worst days weather wise for the fun day (It wasn’t quite as wet as last year). The event brought together lots of ‘Netherfielders’ both during the day and in the evening. With lots of hard work from Mandy and her crew, it was one of those days that remind people of why we like to live in a village.

As part of our Fun Day money was collected to give Ron and Sylvia a voucher for a well-earned holiday, to show our appreciation for all their hard work and support over many years.

Have a great summer,
