THE POWER OF TOUCH
Throughout history we have used
our hands to give comfort and healing to one another. It is simply a
way of communicating something we all do naturally. The intention that
goes along with touch makes all the difference to its effect's, with
compassion and good will it can create many subtle changes.
Physiologically caring touch and massage help the flow of blood and
lymph in our bodies, it can decrease our blood pressure and heart rate,
soothe our nerves, decrease tension producing relaxation and a state of
well being.
Touch and massage aids the production of endorphins,
the bodies natural
painkillers.
The experience of receiving healing touch helps our self-esteem,
creates trust and openness and can sometimes help to release blocked
emotions as any tense muscles relax. It can make us feel valued,
peaceful and more aware of our whole body and being.

IMPORTANT
ADVICE
East Anglican Ambulance
Service have launched a national "In case of Emergency (ICE)" campaign
with the support of Falklands war hero Simon Weston and in
association with
Vodafone's annual life savers award.
The idea is that you store
the word "ICE" in your mobile phone
address book, and
against it enter the number of the person you would want to be
contacted "In Case of Emergency". In an
emergency situation
ambulance and hospital staff will then be able to quickly find out who
your next of kin are and be able to contact them.
It's so simple - everyone can
do it. Please do. Please will you also make this know to
your friends and family, it won't take too long before everybody will
know about this. It really could save your life.
